Not everyone can afford fancy equipment or a gym membership and quite frankly if you have a few years of weight lifting under your belt you probably don't need it. The lifting technique and principles remain the same no matter what the object or its proportion. Just remember variety shocks the body and stimulates results. This might put more stress on your body so it can be beneficial to your strength development but there is also an increased risk of injury so begin with a light weight and execute strong technique before you add a lot of load.
